The provincial seat of Kuzin-Timbergrove, the vast nation-sized province in the northeast of the Aqori Imperium. The city lies at the mouth of the long river Alrend and is a major shipping port for the export lumber and agricultural products, as well as the import of metals and manufactured goods (i.e. enchanted items.)

Prior to the Aqori Conquest, Kide was the capital of the nation of Timbergrove.

from Yewdar: Twilight Games

It is a rainy, miserable summer day in Kide. At the tavern The Perfect Table, Roz Eren won a “fight” against an extremely drunken bar batron who was sore loser at dice, then ran into Captain P. Karrde who she knew as a chief petty officer in the Aqori Holy Arms some years prior. Karrde's ship, the Taloon, is owned by himself and his Turahl partner Gwi. They offer to transport the party to Tamapoor, a two day journey, in exchange for the party helping crew the vessel. Before departing with Karrde, Brudo Cadamar makes a stop an a shrine to Ka in a city sport field, asking for her blessing and predicting victory. With them were Katarina Nimrodin and Jade, the latter of which collected quite the windfall from taking bets on Roz's abortive fight, Roz and Brudo's arm wrestling, and likely a few other conflicts no one else noticed.

While underway and out of sight of land, Roz and Katarina engage in the time-honored sailing tradition of bloodying the decks, where members of the crew fight in a bare-knuckle brawl to gain the blessings of Gur, goddess of war and matron of the seas. The two exchange fierce blows before the Taloon collides with a large derelict ship running dark in the rainy night. Moving to explore the hulk in the foggy gloom, Roz and Kat find themselves set upon by numerous Lycan, members of the Div' folk who have been afflicted with a werewolf-like transformation. During the melee, Kat reveals that she herself is a Lycan, as she shifts into her wolf form to engage the assailants. Telling blows were struck on both sides, but teamwork and skill rolled over the weakened and malnourished Lycan from the derelict.

After the Lycan were felled, the party explored the wreck, finding that it was H.I.R.S. (His Imperial Radiance's Ship) Daiyu, a fast scout ship of the Holy Arms. She was assigned to 1st Fleet, half a world away. Her crew is found dead in the ship's hold and scattered around the gun deck, clearly set upon and eaten by the Lycan sometime prior. Roz finds the Daiyu captain's log, but has yet to read it. In the bottom of the hold, a large metal-banded crate the size of a VW Bug is found. There are clear attempts to break into the crate, but it has thus far resisted all breaching.

Combat Notes

  • The first combat roll of the session was Roz hitting Kat in the Knuckles ritual with a critical hit.
  • Arcane Barrage was nicknamed “Manic Missiles” by Brudo, as Kat quick-fired them at a Lycan that was about to maul Roz.
  • Brudo rolled a crit with his awesome Mjolnir-like hallowed axe Champion's Edge (double 12's!) and decapitated one of the Lycan.
  • Jade and Roz performed a tag-team attack: Roz rolled double 1's; another crit. Both Jade and Roz got to do maximum dice damage plus roll for damage (which included Jade's sneak attack dice.) Jade ended up dealing 30 damage to one of the Lycan, as Roz threw her up into an aerial flip and Jade landed outstretched blades-first on the Lycan's head. Roz contributed 20 damage, then proceeded to spread the love via her juggernaut abilities and made the crit slay an additional adjacent enemy.
  • One of the Lycan made it to the captain's wheel, but Gwi and Karrde handled it without issue (Gwi shot it and Karrde ran a sabre through its chest).
